Sinner are back again with yet another fullength album, and that is a fact that should please any fan of oldschool german metal built on melodic, yet bone crushing riff with strong singalong refrains spiced with good harmonies and solos. In between releasing Primal Fear albums and producing, Mat Sinner uses the time to release yet another album with his "second band", and this is a very good album that will make fans of the good, old Sinner go berserk.

After a slightly lame and mediocre release in form of The End Of Sanctuary, we here get exactly what we were promised before this release: a return to the days of the brilliant The Nature Of Evil. The well coordinated team Naumann/Wolter delivers one smashing riff after the other, and after 30 seconds into practically every song you smile and know and feel that this is going to be a good one.

The production is fat, and a bit heavier, more barb-wirelike than before, and it is overall a bit darker than before, but without losing one bit of their sense for melodies. Riffs of the likes that for example Finalizer is based on are simple, pretty standard, but can make a riffreak like me get something wet in the corner of my eye. Naumann/Wolter is really in good shape on this album, and produces one golden nugget after the other here.

This is however a little bit more concentrated on groovy, driven songs than The Nature Of Evil, but it doesn't feel too slow at all. Even the ballads (The River, Crown Of Thorns) are very enjoyable here. Sinner almost always makes classy ballads/semi ballads and this is no exception.

Nothing is really new under the sun here, so it is safe to say that if Sinner wasn't your cup of tea before this, it will most likely not be after this release either. But if you instead are a sucker for this type of riffbased, classic metal than you are blessed. Buy or there will be execution, beacause this is a really good album.
