Prong isn't the first name that comes to mind when I think
about bands that make some tangible progress from one record to another
and this new deal doesn't deviate from that recognizable trajectory
either and is pretty much just simply following the path of the last
couple of records where the music is based on clear riffing on a hardcore
foundation or is in other words just kind of a punkish style of heavy
metal.
Unlike the recently released albums, Zero Days however
doesn't comprise a couple of super captivating tracks and only a few
of the songs got something extra viable that makes me wanna concentrate
a little more intensively. I usually and greatly fancy the band's melodic
and sing along friendly songs that add another flavor to the whole making
and expand the music into somewhat a different bracket in order to bring
some variation to an otherwise quite linear configuration, but now the
attempt to put forward a couple of great songs in that category turns
out to be quite unsuccessful too.
Without actually being so unattractive, this record is
maybe just too much of an extension of past work and even if I seldom
look for revolutionizing change, I think my brain basically tells me
that this is nothing wider than clearly more of the same stuff and that
traditional clothing sometimes must alter to make it come out interesting
again. A lump of 13 new songs in pretty much the exact same vein as
before just doesn't do the trick this time and after a few good albums
Prong is unable to come out really strong once again.
