No metalheads have probably missed all the mess that's
been associated with this band these past years, but they have made
ends meet and finally released a new album. Whether this is a comeback
album and a shot at bigger stages again remains to be seen, but being
part of The Big Four tour certainly helped them on their way back.
This album is a mix between old school and new school
Anthrax. A lot of beats, riffs and harmonies are created to fit their
eighties and early nineties sound, as well as there are songs that have
a sound more like their later albums. Also Joey's voice is much darker
nowadays and many songs are arranged to fit him.
There are definitely no fillers on this release, but also
there are only two songs that really leaves a scratch deep down in my
ears, Judas Priest and the first single, Fight'em 'Til You Can't. Most
songs are good, even if I was hoping for a bit more though. I think
Worship Music is just what you can expect from Anthrax in 2011. A solid
thrash metal album that's worth buying.
