The first annual Sabaton cruise took part in December
2010 and somewhere down the road they decided to record that show and
release it as a live album. The cruise itself is a 23 hour trip from
Stockholm, Sweden to Turku, Finland and back, with approximately 2800
metal fans onboard.
On this recording, Sabaton is giving us that live feeling
you want to have when listening to a live album. The sound isn't too
polished, with no unnecessarily cuts and no silent seconds between the
songs. Just the way a live album should be. During these intense 77
minutes of music, there are hardly no ups and downs. However since this
was recorded with mostly Swedish fans, lead singer Joakim speaks Swedish
to 95 percent, making it harder to follow the red line, which briefly
is that Joakim is letting the audience vote which songs to play.
The highlights on this albums are without a doubt mostly
songs from The Art Of War. Their best release up to now and fortunately
the songs work live as well. If you have seen Sabaton live, you can
really see their performance before you, when listening to World War
Live.
