The Italian constellation Hell In The Club, with members
from Elvenking and Secret Sphere, is back with a 3rd album of easy-going
hard rock and once again the music of this project takes big steps away
from what these guys originally do with their main bands. I totally
encourage their decision to do things differently and jump outside their
usual frames of music and when at the same time the end result is really
good too, I believe it turns out to be nothing but a win-win situation
for everybody.
This piece of work is basically not built in order to
come out in an advanced way with a lot of intricate or esoteric structures
and neither are the guys trying to show people their instrumental talents
more than absolute necessary. Instead they just let their creativity
stream openly to try to provide the listeners with nothing but a solid
bunch of songs with a massive party factor about dreams of success,
chicks, rock music and everything else that comes with it. It's really
a refreshing side that they are able to put to the music and also quite
quickly I get attracted to what's handed out.
In comparison to the band's latest effort, Devil On My
Shoulder, which I listened to before writing this text, the songs on
this brand new album are definitely just as strong and captivating.
Each and every one isn't a super hot phenomenon, but a lot of the songs
are truly elevating with a happy aura embracing them and to me personally
they kind of bring forth an image of summertime and plenty of thoughts
about the good times. Shadow Of The Monster is a nice hard rock experience
and I think that this entity once again has managed to put out something
legitimate.
