Californian quartet Steel Panther return with their second effort with the purpose of stealing all the girls from hard working men.

The lyrics on Balls Out follows the same path as they used on their debut album Feel The Steel. Just read the titles and you will know that this album has a stamp with Parental advisory / Explicit content written on it. Whether this is record company tactics or not I don't know. It's however hard not to laugh, in a good way though, when you listen to the lyrics, even if most of them could be written by twelve year olds.

If leaving their lyrics behind, there actually are some good music on this release and the musicians know how to use their strings and skins, so clearly their lyrics are just there to be seen. Glam metal mixed with hard rock and even some heavy metal is what we get. Most songs are catchy, but with an almost total lack of diversity, I feel a bit fed up when listening to it a couple of times.

There are some good tunes like It Won't Suck Itself, Tomorrow Night and That's What Girls Are For, but unfortunately this album don't reach the highs that Feel The Steel did. In my opinion this release is worth 5 chalices, because this is a solid hard rock album without any lows.
