Denmark's Illdisposed are one of those bands who, nowadays, are bringing up the rear behind Volbeat - arguably the biggest band coming out of the small monarchy at the Baltic at the moment. Illdisposed are playing in a much more aggressive league compared to the aforementioned band, and Illdisposed's latest offering to our eardrums "To Those Who Walk Behind Us" is no exception to the rule.

Compared to the band's previous efforts, such as "Four Depressive Seasons" and "Submit" the latest album is much less aggressive. While those earlier albums bore the mark of Scandinavian Death Metal from the classic 1990's, the songs from more recent releases as "The Prestige" and "1-800-Vindication" are much smoother and a lot less menacing.

This doesn't necessarily mean that the newer songs are lacking in quality - "To Those Who Walk Behind Us" offer some great songs, and some great musicianship - but - compared to the band's previous efforts no song off "To Those Who Walk Behind Us" actually lifts off the floor. Although I have listened to the album well over 25 times, I can barely remember a moment when I thought 'wow, this song is impossible to get out of my head'.

This is just a record from a band that I know have done and can do so much better, but "To Those Who Walk Behind Us" just isn't as confident as the title suggests.
