Tarot has been around for quite some time now, but hasn´t really caught my attention until their release of Suffer Our Pleasures. In their music you can find traces of Accept and Dio as well as contemporary finnish melodic metal and there´s also many similarities with Masterplan.

The album kicks off with the "in your face" track I Rule followed by the little slower Pyre Of Gods which is the track that has the most in common with Masterplan, and you can find the video for Pyre Of Gods available for download at their homepage www.wingsofdarkness.net. Later on we stumble over the mighty track Undead Son which i definitely hold as my favourite together with From The Void which has a great drive to it and with lyrics about an alien invasion. And that brings us to the last song Painless which is a semi-acoustic track that sticks out a bit from the rest but not to much so that it wouldn´t fit in with the others, cause even if all songs sounds different to eachother they all holds together perfectly to make a whole.

The music isn´t really anything out of the ordinary, but it holds that certain sense that makes it better than the average. Not least because of the nice melodylines and the great guitarplaying.

And here´s a little information for the department of 'worthless' knowing. Marco Hietala has been found playing with Sinergy and can also be found as a full-time member in Nightwish.
