What strikes me most is that this young band sounds like Judas Priest did in the early eighties. And man, does that give a nostalgic feeling! I get reminded of the time when Judas Priest would sing about love and all sorts of joy-full matters, not like in the later years where most metal has to be evil and be about death or depressing matters.

But the Showguns is all but nostalgic, they are young, fresh and have alot to give. All the tracks are amazingly good and pretty well recorded and mixed for this demo. I'm really surprized that The Showguns haven't gotten bigger recognition since this demo is really good and the musicians are very professional in my opinion.

I first got in contact with this band on the Swedish Metal Expo 2005 where The Showguns played as the winner of Digfi.com's demo contest. Best act on SMX in my opinion. Crashdiet and Gemini Five might have drawn a bigger audience but still, The Showguns was most interresting. This is a well-played, well-singed, catchy, hard and heavy band to be reckoned with in the future.
