With an anniversary album, celebrating thirty years as
a band, the German thrash metallers in Destruction are firing another
round with their twelfth full length studio album. Spiritual Genocide
is drummer Vaaver's (Wawrzyniek Dramowicz) second effort with the band
and with their history of several line-up changes, perhaps they now
are about to form a solid trio for future escapades?
With this thrash metal release, we're not even close to
something slow and pretty, as they charge like raging bulls through
most of these forty-one minutes. No compromises, just pure speedy metal
with fast and heavy riffs combined with thunderous and violent drumming.
Sometimes a bit brutal, but mostly just straight-out with a furious
tempo. There's no point to go through every song one by one, since they
nearly follow the same pattern, meaning fast, raw, natural and open-faced.
A solid album with no fillers and the veterans in Destruction
once again show that they can produce a good record after many years
active.
