Twilight Guardians - Sintrade
![]() Sintrade is the third offering from Twilight Guardians. You don't have to read the press release to figure out what their native country is. The song writing, production and Vesa Virtanens accent just screams out that this has something to do with the country of thousand lakes. This is maybe the weak spot of this album since it is something we have heard numerous times before. Despite this fact you can't argue with the quality that this offering holds in itself. The great opener Through The Stars sets the standard right away, very melodic power metal in mid tempo with a lot of keyboards in the background which creates a warm atmosphere. The vocals makes me think of Timo Kotipelto in his mid register but perhaps it is the accent that is the main reason why his names pops up in my mind. The album is very consistent and there are no fillers really but on the other hand there are no killers either. My Spoiled Reign and Room Of Shadow And Light are two of the best compositions and it might be the great choruses or the fact that these are the only fast paced tracks that we can find that makes the difference. If this album had been released five years ago it would
have created more fuzz than I expect will happen now. But as I pointed
out earlier, you can't look away from the fact that it's a release full
of quality to stand on its own. Sintrade won't cross any borders, but
fans of the power metal genre can buy this blindfolded without the risk
of getting disappointed.
