Dark Domination - Rebellion 666
![]() I often thought that the perfect environment for black metal must be somewhere over the Baltic Sea - grey places in our society which shape the believes and doubts on mankind. I do not think Latvia's Dark Domination lives up to the lethal criteria's that the black metal scene demands today with their latest album Rebellion 666 released through Evil Distribution. Rebellion 666 is the band's third effort to create damnation upon us. I wouldn't say that Rebellion 666 feels like an exciting new and fresh creation, it's more like a well known old friend. The music is not an excitement itself but it is reliable. Dark Domination dwell somewhere in the darkened wastelands, constantly keeping an eye on bands such as Belphegor and Enthroned. Satanic spells vomited to the sound of half fresh, half dead and boring standard black metal with thrash influences in order to make it a bit old school. My opinion is that the Rebellion 666 album works best
and peaks at songs like the fast Discovering The True Ways Of Satan
and the more heavier Baphomet. These ones feel like the most genuine
ones and the ones most true to the identity of the band. Dark Domination
will perhaps be dominating some day if they start to shape their own
music, as for now there aren't anything special and are not sticking
out. Rebellion 666 is not a bad album but it aint a so called 'must
have' record either.
