Redkey - Rage Of Fire
![]() Finally! They're back! Who you may ask? The answer is the duo of Sascha Paeth and Thomas Rettke. The masterminds behind Heaven's Gate that released classic albums like Livin' In Hysteria and In Control have once again teamed up and released a cd for the first time since I don't know when. And what a cd it is. This is a droolfest for every fan of classic german metal. The production is excellent but that comes as no surprise since Sascha Paeth is well known for his production work with bands like Angra, Kamelot, Rhapsody Of Fire and Edguy among others. When I listen to this album I realize how much I've missed Thomas Rettke's voice. It suits this kind of music perfectly and he really is one of the best singers in the business. The best comparision I can think of is a mix between Robin McAuley and Andy B. Franck of Brainstorm/Symphorce fame. The album opens up with a short intro before the titletrack starts off with a great riff. It's a pretty heavy and aggressive song with a chorus that's easy to remember. Next up is the song Be My Guide which continues in the same vein as the opener. It continues like this throughout the entire album. Heavy, aggressive and very melodic at the same time. The best song is Metal Head with its heavy riff that almost sounds like something from an U.D.O. disc. If you want your metal to be in the german style you can't go wrong with this CD. German metal can't be much better than this in 2006. This album is so good that it most likely will end up on my top ten list of this years best albums.
