Apart from a brilliant debut album album in the late '80s,
Mortal Sin has never been a band that has stood out as anything special
to me. That is, until now.
Psychology Of Death leaves me with very few things to
complain about - everything from the riffs to the vocals to the choruses
to the overall feeling is spot-on and every song. The production is
good but, as I always seem to think, a grittier sound would have lifted
this album even further.
While the big thrash metal bands seem to take turns in
releasing one boring album after another, it's bands such as Legion
Of The Damned, Toxic Holocaust, Antichrist and Mortal Sin that keep
the genre alive.
Psychology Of Death is definitely one of the strongest
albums of this year and it's actually a pity that they will only play
songs from their first two albums on the Thrashfest Classics tour.
