No, "Planetary Duality" isn't a new record,
but seeing these guys perform the proverbial shit out of this reviewer
at Bonecrusher Fest of course prompted me to check out The Faceless.
And boy, oh boy, are they worth checking out! Making their
debut with "Ankeldama" in 2006 they took the good elements
on that album, refined them and made absolutely certain that they ended
up on "Planetary Duality". What that gives us is a records
positively oozing with top-notch performances from each musician and
some absolute triumphs in concerning the songs.
Really gritty in some aspects (after all we're talking
technical death metal here) "Planetary Duality" also have
some of the most atmospheric and beautiful solos I have heard in a long
time. If you're into challenging albums you should definitely check
out "Planetary Duality" an album that combines the heaviness
of Nile with the intelligence of Cynic. Had I known about this record
in 2008 it would've easily ended up on my top 10 list that year. Alas
