![]() The faith filled, speed metal merchants - Temple Of Blood - hail the return of Christian inspiration, rebounding once more, seeking the truth, with their evidence of supplication: Overlord. This self-released doctrine of conviction may lack quality production, or serve as laconic treatise of their truth; but, it makes up for these deficiencies, with force recon riffing, strident solos, and fearsome warlike melodies. The harbinger of sorrow - Jim Mullins - screams on guitars, and from the depths of his lungs. I still claim he sounds like Mark Shelton of Manilla Road, but his vocal deliverance is shrill, and he shrieks as if he has a tourniquet tied around his neck. If you ever get a chance to hear early Bride albums like Show No Mercy or Live To Die, or the early works of Deliverance, you'll see what I mean. Their is valor and vengeance rising, in this sacred warrior of steel. He is a true believer who views spiritual warfare as a reality, and the imminent eschatological future, as our inevitability. This illusion of control does not prevent him from writing ridiculously rapid measures of mettle. No matter what you may believe, believe me when I say this is serious speed, pure metal, replete with all the characteristics of dynamic drumming, ripping guitar hooks, and snares, and intensely recorded riffs. Most songs are fast, with the exception of "Black Day Of Execution" and "Anthem To The Unseen", but even Tourniquet & Vengeance Rising had some slow pounders when it came to Christ's passion and the promised paradise. Where most songs focus on trampling the serpent - the black snake of rebellion, a real surprise is their cover of "Forbidden Evil". Which calls to mind the image of Ed Repka's skull hovering over the destruction of the twin cities. On their debut release - Prepare For The Judgement Of Mankind, they tackled the Deadly Blessing cover of "Deliver Us To Evil" with Ski on vocals. This through eyes of class, attempt is a cross of bare enthusiasm, and bloody good craftsmanship. If only Russ Anderson still sounded this good! I prefer the debut, you can read my review here: www.metalcdratings.com.
This is still a quality effort among the remnant of speed metal soldiers
under command, who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I encourage to
give them a chance, before armageddon arrives.
