Khold - Mörke Gravers Kammer
Black metal without ferocious intensity and agression? There are bands that make it without these important ingredients. Norwegian Khold are unfortunately not one of them. Mörke Gravers Kammeris a very dark album. Melancholy, emotional and atmospheric black metal. As mentioned, there are bands like early Satyricon and Darkthrone among others, that wield the raw and primitive art of black metal. I guess that this is something that Khold are trying to define with their music. But it feels like something is missing - there is no maliciousnes, no rawness. Only melancholy and low mid-tempo metal. There are some songs like Niflheimr and Sjeleskjenderthat work just fine. If Khold was about gothic-deppresive music I would buy the idea, with some minor adjustements. But for now, there is not much of excitement over Mörke Gravers Kammer apart from a few exeptions. A plus though for the good production andcool layout. See
