Rather brutal thrash metal signed Hypocrisy's mastermind etc Peter Tägtgren. The Danish youngsters follow the footsteps of German thrash veterans such as Sodom and Destruction. On the melodic guitarplay parts this is also resemblant to Kreator's later releases.

Perhaps it's time for the dinosaurs to coronate new rulers of the genre? Not saying that all crowns must be placed on the heads of the members of Essence though, but this feels fresh and new with a strive to move forward with aggressive angry vocals, thunderous and massive drums and a fierce guitarplay, ripping and fast heavy riffing. The production from well sought after Tägtgren fits like a glove and I believe that this band is more than satisfied with the outcome on that matter, as I surely am.

It would be a sheer lie to call this album diverse, as they pretty much thrash through it from start to finish. Far from groundbreaking, yet I dig this album, as my body sets in motion and my neck responds to this powerful thrash piece and starts to bang on short notice.
