Fourth album from American thrash metallers Anger As Art,
with members hailing from semi-known veteran bands. After the recordings
in early spring 2012 bassplayer Henry De La Cruz has joined the ranks
and from what I know main man Steve Gaines handles the bass on this
release.
This record sounds and breathes old school metal and why
shouldn't it, when released on this specific label? Some songs have
their charm, but with this type of dated and non diverse music, in the
end it's actually not that satisfying. They rely on speed and even if
a couple of parts are good, I still, after listening to this album for
about fifteen times, have a hard time to recall the songs and separate
them from each other.
The production is kind of low budget and is created to
have an older vibe, yet with a modern touch. I know there are fans out
there who find good shit in this old school metal, but to most metal
fans this release will merely confirm the band's position as underground.
