German newcomers Rebellious Spirit is a bunch of kids probably still staying at their parents' houses. It's naive, totally borrowed or stolen, whichever way you prefer. Yet with a certain youthful charm and an up-and-coming energy that should not be ignored.

This band plays retro sleaze rock with a somewhat modern approach and I can distinctly tell you that this music is for younger listeners, as these kids still have much to prove. The vocalist has barely passed his voice change yet and occasionally his voice is about to crack.

The songs varies from pretty bad to decent and this is definitely nothing for people who listens to the giants of the eighties. Believe me, I've listened to this album over twenty times, but I still can't take it one bit closer to my heart. On the other hand, most of those older bands are in fact rather crappy or nonexistent nowadays, so perhaps we should welcome this as new blood to the scene.

Here's some advice. Kids! Listen to this album if you're into sleaze rock. You might like it. To all you 25 and over! No need to even bother. Without a single ounce of doubt, you will dismiss this.
