Capharnaum´s Fractured consists of eight songs of aggressive but still very technical thrash with elements of Florida styled death metal. Fractured was recorded at Audiohammer Studios, Florida. Produced and mixed by Jason Suecof, who also are responsible for guitar and backing vocals in Capharnaum.

Capharnaum started up more than a decade ago, and this is the very first time I lay my ears on this band. Capharnaums style is in the veins of bands such as The Haunted or Dew Scented with the major difference that they are more diverse. There are a lot of things going on in these compositions, so the most honest comparison perhaps is the later days of Death's career or even good old Atheist. Personally I enjoy this kind of music in small doses. But I can easily say that it's hard to resist this band, mostly due to their extreme musical brilliance and courage and will to experiment with their instruments in order to evolve their music. Extremely skilled musicians. The vocals could have been more varied, its pretty much the same screams during the whole album and more various vocals could have added some more identity to the songs. Otherwise there aren't much to talk of - extremely good drum parts, grind and blast with some really good breaks and stuff going on. For example on the excellent title track and Icon Of Malice.

Good production, the same with the compositions. Vocals could be more interesting, but apart from that a more interesting option to check out than many other bands that this genre contains.
