Former Slayer drum virtuoso Dave Lombardo may be one of
metal's finest and most appreciated and respected drummers, but at this
very moment it doesn't matter much to me, as the songs on Fire From
The Evening Sun are totally dull and just a pain in the ass to listen
to. This release is to me personally one of the most boring and arduous
records that I've been checking out thus far this year.
The music seems a little chaotic and the vocals are just
constrained, yet without being contrived for whatever good that matters.
Personally I can't find any satisfaction in the songs whatsoever, since
they constantly have a lack of good grooves and a total absence of captivating
efficiency.
I felt an instant saturation when I had listened to this
record for the first time from start to finish. That strong feeling
should definitely have been an ominous sign, but still I have punished
myself by playing this record almost ten times to really find out what
it's all about, but at the end of the day I feel that its overall end
result is really annoying in my perspective.
It includes elements of psychedelic things, semi-industrial
parts and pieces and bits of weird noises and I personally am unable
to find rhythms suitable to what I find attractive. Never again will
I listen to this record, because it gives me nothing more than a ride
through a strange experience.
