-Yes, Fellow citizens of the planet earth. Solitaire is a musical catastrophy and all melody, harmony and nuances will be declared extinct in August..

These words end the press info about Solitaires release, Extremely Flammable from Iron Glory Records. I have to admit that it's with a real dose of excitement I receive this album. I've heard much about the Finnish Thrash squadron Solitaire since their debut, Rising To The Challenge -02, but actually never heard the music.

Extremely Flammable kicks of with a classic countdown with roaring guitars and drums going insane, and my excitement rises to an even higher level. It's something nostalgic about Solitaire's music. These Finnish dudes have managed to capture the feeling from the later 80´s, and a band like Exodus seems to have been of vital importance to Solitaire's music, without being any copycats or clones of the aforementioned band. Solitaire has its own spirit, and they wield the heritage from the old Thrash Metal Gods well.

It has to be said that the press info wasn't totally honest; there is both melodies and nuances on this recording even though they are delivered at highest speed. As on Out of My Role, a real crusher that takes the listener back to the god old days, when aggression in this form came in the shape of Destruction's Infernal Overkill, or the even more excellent Game Over by Nuclear Assault. Not to mention the climax - Speed Trap. Sorry, but I can´t find the right words for this one. Sheer perfection in the art of Thrash Metal, I guess. No need to mention any particular performances from the members on this album. Extremely Flammable must be a candidate to the album of the year. I simply can't find anything to complain about on this album, apart from the lyrics on Steel Against Steel, which are maybe a bit to much Manowar for my taste.

I surrender, and salute Solitaire.
