27 minutes pure grind is a way of describing Exit by Finish grindcoreorchestra Rotten Sound. As you've probably noticed, Exit has a few years on its back, but this is such a beautiful example of how grindcore should be that I really can't abstain from reviewing it on Metal Covenant.

With a production from late Mieszko Talarczyk that really showcases the music, Rotten Sound drives their furious music straight home if you ask this reviewer. The band has the essentials down to a tee - playing excruciatingly fast isn't enough when it comes to producing good grindcore - if you don't have the skills to writing good songs this amounts to nothing. Rotten Sound has learned this lesson, without losing sight of what grindcore is about - demonstrating rage, and not singing lullabies.

You get 18 very hard and extreme songs that I personally like very much. There really aren't any weak tracks on Exit, and I heartily recommend that you listen to the album straight through. Then you will notice that as a whole Exit is an album with no weak spots. Just listen to a song like Maggots, a in your face song with more relevance than all of the winners of American Idol put together.

Rotten Sound is a band that is pulling in the same direction on Exit - Keijo Niinimaa is screaming like an obsessed person, while Mika Aalto and Kristian Toivainen must have destroyed one or two cuticles because they are sure playing their bloody hands off. As usual the drummer in the band Sami Latva stands for a purely brilliant display behind the drums - heaviness and groove when called for - and a pugilistic onslaught executed with awesome tightness when needed. He is just great.

I have, as you've probably have noticed by now, surrendered to this marvelous display of grindcore. Exit is an album well worth any recognition it gets.
