Pink Cream 69 - Endangered
Do you like Pretty Maids from the early 90's? About the time of Sin-Decade? Then you might actually like this album too: the 10th release from one of Germanys biggest bands, but many bands do Metal better than this, and these guys never reach Pretty Maids heights - far from it. After a few listenings the same feeling occurs- after 48 minutes it feels like it has been the one long, boring track that has been spinning - everything melts together into a flat, uninteresting wall of sounds. Half midtempo, half more or less powerballads. The production is good, but it is plain, simple standardriffs from the schoolbooks that are beeeing handed out here, and not once during this album I raised my eyebrows in just the slightest reaction of admiration to the compositions and ideas. This is the band from which Helloween recruited their current singer Andi Deris back in 1995, and it's not hard to understand why Deris chose Helloween over this. I am afraid that the title is a good prediction of the bands future if this is the best they have to offer the metalscene today - metal is supposed to be, and is much better and fun than this. Songs with a certain amount of quality: Trust the Wiseman, Pinball Wizard
