Vital Remains - Dechristianize
![]() For those of you who sits starring in the wall, waiting for the upcoming Deicide album (feb. -04), this album can be of vital importance. Vital Remains "Dechristianize" are feat. with Deicide´s frontmanon vocals. A promotional genius draw? Certainly. But I´don't think it would matter if they did a "pseudo" in the booklet under vocals, everyone had noticed it anyway. There are simply only one mr. Benton on this planet...Is it good? Certainly. There is a lot that can be said about the vocalist, but the strenght of Vital Remains are hidden in the two extremely talented musicians, Tony Lazaro and Dave Suzuki. Vital Remains performs extremely well-played deathmetal in the speed of a formula one car. Together with "unearthly melodies" and superb arrangements, this album is one of the brightest shining so far this year. The music can best be compared to Deicide with a touch of Krisiun and Hate eternal. The best thing with Vital Remains is the structure in the songs, there are clear lines through the arrangements. Something that makes this band stand out above many others in this genre. Hysteric speed, but with finess and melody. "Dechristianize", "Unleash Hell" and "At war with god" are the ones among many great songs on this album that can be held above others. But as I said, there are many great composings on this album. If there is a complaint to give it must be the length on the songs. Hardly no song at all under five min. But that's all. Cant wait for the opportunity to see this act live and get the next album, but in the meantime the upcoming Deicide album will hopefully due just fine. Vital Remains are the definition of deathmetal!
