Here's a mistake I won't commit again - never stop expecting
good albums before the year's end. Impious "Death Domination"
is just that - a very good album from a band that has scoops of confidence
in what they are doing. And why shouldn't they? "Death Domination"
is just oozing with songs written by a bunch of really competent musicians
that are performing at a very high level.
If I were to tick things off my this-is-a-good-death-metal-album
list I could easily fill in the boxes next to growling from hell, stringwork
to die for, blasting drums and a solid heavier than concrete clad in
led bassperformance. The astounding skill of each musician aside - these
guys certainly knows how to write good songs. A current favourite is
"And The Empire Shall Fall" with some fantastic drumming from
Mikael Norén.
Good songs by a bunch of really talented musicians makes
listening to "Death Domination" a pure pleasure. Slightly
reminiscent of Behemoth's latest offering as well as the old school
death metal that came out of Sweden in the beginning of the 1990's paired
with the modern meatiness in the production this record should not disappoint
any listener of quality metal.
