True Norwegian Balkan Metal. I should have seen what was
coming. As I never heard this band before, I ask myself what the hell
this is. I would say it's more amusing than good and after listening
to it for three times, I feel like I will never listen to this bullshit
again.
Then what is it? Well, it's some kind of Norwegian folk
metal with an aggressive, yet a bit weak, approach. It's definitely
not heavy. It's more furious, raging, speedy and sometimes just sheer
madness, weird, dumb and goofy. The lyrical themes stand out and are
there to be different, as they mostly are a mix between Norwegian and
German.
It has parts who actually are good, but when looking to
the remaining ninety-five percent of the record, I think we can rule
out any kind of greatness. With most of the songs on full throttle,
one in mid-tempo and a couple of jingles, or whatever they are supposed
to be, these types of songs just go on and on for forty-three minutes.
This album can be fun listening to for maybe a few spins, but after
that, it will be soon forgotten.
