Motörhead |

Yet another solid release from the germans. Once again
we are served mid- and uptempo, dirty rock'n'roll with clear Motörhead
vibes with a hint of AC/DC but there is also the occasional melodic
refrain in Iron Savior/Paragon style. The lyrics are, as usual, not
on the highest and deepest academic level but instead deals with "how
much rock'n'roll we are", being on the road and how they love when
girls do certain things.
The songs hold an overall high quality and apart from the track On The
Road Again there are no fillers, but I do however miss some really nut
cracking hits. They have something going in Dear Mr. Devil but for some
incomprehensable reason they choose to let a brilliant refrain only
appear once, after the first verse and bridge. After that you sit and
wait for it to show up again but it never does and the song ends kind
of abruptly. Bombard Your Soul is also hit material and almost reach
there.
Even though they once again have hired Piet Sielck as producer of the
album, it is a bit more warmer and softer sound this time and that suits
them good. Piet has stepped aside from his characteristic dry and metallic
sound this time.
It is slightly more moderate and laid back this time but the energy
and the joy of playing rock'n'roll is very apperant. Everything is perfecly
executed by vocalist Drexler who is the bands biggest asset with his
raspy and charmingly dialectal voice. If you liked the previous albums
you can safely pick this one up even though it is a bit more moderate
this time and not as intense.
