After various lineup changes, the Finnish melodic death
metallers Mors Principium Est (Latin for Death Is The Beginning), now
return, with two new guitarists in UK's Andy Gillion and New Zealand's
Andhe Chandler, after being on hiatus since their 2007 release Liberation
= Termination.
Melodic death metal with a certain degree of the well
known Finnish melancholy, built on thunderous drums, angry and hoarse
vocals without excessive growling and on top of the cake, lead guitars
with harmony parts all through, so they are not breaking any new ground
here. This new album is pretty much what you expect from bands within
this genre of heavy music.
Most songs have a close resemblance and are somewhat cast
in the same mold. This however doesn't make this release bad in any
way, although a bit monotonous. A fairly good album, even if they don't
reach all the way to the top.
