Jean Beauvoir and Micki Free together present rather ordinary melodic rock and we who are familiar with this duo and their tremendous work on Crown Of Thorns' eponymous debut album can quite immediately notice that much of their magic and songwriting skills have sort of left the building nowadays. Not to assert that this release is a bad effort, but it simply can't keep up with the great standards of aforementioned album.

I certainly know that it's quite impossible for the guys to hit it really big-time at this moment, like they did with that remarkable old record, and I'm not trying to score some easy points on their behalf, but it's nevertheless an album with a bunch of songs which overall haven't really got that little bit of extra punch to them. There's definitely some nice parts and plays included on this disc though, but still I'm unable to really find some kind of stronger connection to the whole product.

They come out passionate in the performance and they are in fact somewhat capable of staying in a benign, yet kind of plain, position throughout the album. At the same time this matter works in an unfavorable way, because no matter how many spins I give this album, the songs sit safely on a satisfactory level and I never find those killer tracks and at the end of the day, American Trash in total never comes to a point where I find it more than just okay.
