Having been creatively dormant for 5 years, main man Henri
Sattler decided to put the beast to life again during 2015 in order
to meet the fans' consistant demand for more touring and music, and
thus had an excellent opportunity to finish the trilogy about WWII,
which started with the acclaimed albums Passiondale (Passchendaele)
(2009) and Under The Sign Of The Iron Cross (2010). A wise and excellent
choice, I must say,
since this is quite good.
There is a rougher and much more dynamic and heavy approach
this time around, at an often more modest and varied tempo than before,
and Henri Sattler sings with more power and edge. There are few, if
any, filler moments to be found and the album holds many great riffs
and melodies. Their touring and friendship with Bolt Thrower can be
heard quite clearly sometimes, since many passages could very well be
Bolt Thrower at normal or 1,5x speed. I don't oppose to that, quite
the contrary. This is a great, appreciated and vital return to the scene.
