Dead Lord really swept me off my feet with their 2013
debut Goodbye Repentance. It has been described as the best Thin Lizzy
album never made by Thin Lizzy and I'm bound to agree. Their smart yet
simple melodies and guitar harmonies together with Hakim Krim's distinct
vocals is a recipe for really intense and well-crafted rock.
Needless to say, I've been looking forward to their sophomore
album Heads Held High for quite some time now, hoping it would floor
me the same way as the debut did. Sadly, this is not the case. It's
got the same basic components but lacks the intensity and energy that
made me play the first album over and over and over again. There are
some of songs that stand out but overall I find Heads Held High a little
bit too predictable and repetitive.
