Finntroll - Visor Om Slutet
Finntroll´s acoustic album feels unfortunately like a "rip off." It ain´t many of the eleven songs on the album that can be counted as "real songs", they are more like new age or perhaps even more like "funny sounds from the forest of trolls". Luckely enough you don´t have to pay fullprice for it, but I had preferd if they had taken the five songs that can be counted as "real" and released them as an EP instead. Three of the songs that holds somewhat class is: Asfågelns död, Svart Djup och Den sista runans dans, all relativly slow songs with emotions and the given element of northern folkmusic in true Finntroll spirit. But in the name of honesty it has to be said that if it hadn´t been Finntroll it would hardly had caught my attention. The two tracks that actually saves Visor From Slutet from a total failure is Försvinn Du Som Lyser that hums-along wonderfully in a considerable quicker tempo than the rest of the album, and the instrumental Under Varje Rot och sten with a somewhat celtic touch. With these two songs all you have to do is gather trolls, elves and friends around the fire and the feast is a fact. See
