Fourth album, and the first with guitarist John Roche, from Irish thrash metallers Gama Bomb. They have a clear attraction to traditional eighties thrash metal and variety or diversity aren't what this band is about. It's full speed ahead from start to finish, with only a few temporary breaks and without any significant brutal elements present. The album opener sets the neckbreaking tone and the rest of the tracks kind of follow the same determined and intense path.

It's like they're running out of a warzone fighting to survive with their speedy thrash metal, as there are hardly no time for breathers during these thirty-six minutes of music. The album's length is not that impressive and these twelve songs flash through my ears real quick. Some of the songs feel like they haven't even started before they end. Don't get me wrong, whereas most songs are rather decent with a few peaks in Backwards Bible, We Started The Fire, Terrorscope and Matrioshka Brain.

Exhilarating occasionally, but this monotone metal experience feels rather predictable as we rush through it in a furious tempo and it's not that appealing to me. The Terror Tapes is definitely not a lame effort, but to rely almost solely on intensity and speed just isn't enough to get my neck muscles in heavy motion. 5 chalices to a decent thrash album that has its bright moments.
