The Fatal Feast is album number five from American crossover band Municipal Waste, following up 2009's Massive Aggressive which was their weakest album to date, in my opinion. Actually, it seems as if every album they've made since 2005's Hazardous Mutation has been a boring carbon-copy of the preceding album and although I've tried to listen to The Fatal Feast with an open mind, it is sadly no exception.

There's not much to say about the songs. The ideas might be there but the execution is poor - all the songs seem to sound the same and keep the same tempo. The title track is by no means great but at least it stands out a little. I might have been a little more forgiving if it weren't for the fact that both the production and the vocals are really, really weak which is a shame - this kind of music should hit you like a ton of bricks, induce moshpits and leave you wondering what the hell just happened. I don't feel it.

It might sound harsh but the last three Municipal Waste albums have all been their worst album so far and I'm not sure how many more chances I want to give them. Apart from a cool album cover, there is very little appeal here for me.
