Grindnecks - Terror Rising
Swedish Grindnecks have sent us their quite fresh and self-made debut, Terror Rising, which was recorded and engineered during some days in November at the music store, Musikbörsen in Gothenburg, by Matte Wärnestam. The band was formed in 2003 from the remains of Demons Of Dirt and also contains members from the bands Within Y and Gardenian. Grindnecks offer us some really hard and solid metal that is allowed to reach out in areas of more modern thrash as well as death metal oriented style. It's obvious that this band have managed to take the best of worlds, groovy heavy riffs combined with a more straight and orthodox music creating. The best and most fair I can think of right now must be: Driller Killer meets The Crown. Here and there they also let us listen to some real cool melodies that fits well to this heavy sound carpet. All very suitable arranged with the powerful vocals of Jocke Proos. Nice vocals that don't stagnate or becoming boring. Good composing and a killer production. All four of the songs that are presented on this recording
are ok, but I must say that Death In Disguise and Terror Rising are
the absolute favourites. Even though the band are quite fresh and new,
they perform their music as they never done anything else before. Hard,
heavy, solid and uncompromising Metal that doesn't get ordinary or predictable.
Even the length of the songs is perfect so I can't complain about that
either. Terror Rising...
