This self produced twenty-five minute EP was originally
released last fall in the States and is now up for grabs in Europe as
well. This Southern California outfit plays modern American heavy rocking
alternative radio metal or whatever you want to call it and we've heard
this semi-computerized type of music a thousand times before, with mainly
clean vocals mixed with some aggressive parts.
The melodies are rather captivating and well suited for
radio broadcasting and true heavy metal fans will most certainly dismiss
this as some sort of pop music disguised in a heavier outfit. In my
ears the instruments are overshadowed by a modern, yet not a high-level,
production and engineering, which makes many plays feel artificial and
without genuineness and originality. I well aware of that the intension
is to do so, but that's how I see it. There are tons of opinions on
this matter and I think it's up to each his own to decide what's right
or wrong and good or bad.
I have listened to this EP roughly fifteen times and I
feel that it's close to coming to a dead end. No matter how much more
I will listen to this release, it will for sure just stay at a decent
rating of 5 chalices, neither more nor less. It's not this type of music
I want to listen to over and over again, but it will do for a spin once
in a while.
