Matters of the Dark is the latest release from Swedish Tad Morose and the second with vocalist Urban Breed. The band's been through many changes over the years and today the only remaining original member is Christer Andersson on guitars.
But that's definitely not a bad thing 'cause today's lineup is the best the band has ever had in my opinion and the awesome vocalist is the main reason for this.

This is an album that takes more than one listening before one begins to realize how great it is. It grows with every rotation and once the greatness has been established there's absolutely no doubt about it.
Tad Morose has done it again! They've followed up their previous release Undead with some more outstanding stuff!

The absolute most impressive thing with Tad Morose is definitely the vocalist Urban Breed. His voice is as "metalmaterial" as it can get and is an absolute delight to listen to. Powerful, original and not the so common high-pitch- in other words- magnificent!
This in combination with great guitars gives the music itself a very high standard and can be described as traditional melodic metal but with individuality.

Matters of the Dark consists most of mid-tempo tracks but don't get upset over this 'cause Tad Morose know what they're doing in this department. Very rhythmic verses in combination with strong choruses and great guitars characterize this release.
And those tracks are the ones I like the best despite the fact that I'm normally much more into faster speed-rockets…But friends of double bass drums- don't worry- you won't be left without any share 'cause there are tracks for you who crave this too.

But what do they really sound like? A mix between Sinner and Black Sabbath would be a start but is not by far the whole truth.
You can throw in bands like Jag Panzer and even the newer heavier Dio into the mixture too and come closer to the truth but still not all the way. The best way is to just plain and simple call this awesome melodic metal and be done with it…

This quintet from Bollnäs has performed very well here and the result is way above average. Fans of melodic and powerful metal won't be the least disappointed, I can assure you that.

This album will rotate many times in my CD-player back home and continue to give me very enjoyable moments in the years to come.
