If you think that In Flames with Alexi Laiho on vocals sounds like a good match, you would probably like Neaera. There is nothing revolutionary about the music as such. Reused riffs, screaming mixed with growling, fast drums… songs about all shit going on in the world. The production and sound is standard for the genre. The song material is quite good actually, but lacks any real tops and some variation.

You can listen to Nearea without taking any musical harm. But next time you wish to hear this kind of music you put on Children of Bodom or Dark Tranquillity instead, simply because they have better songs. If you are really into this genre, Neaera will work as a complement. As many other bands these Germans have potential. Let's hope that they progress just that extra little step to the next record!
