Sweden's Eldrimner offers black metal inspired heavy metal
with lyrics in their own native tongue. Frankly I don't think that this
music provides any significantly stunning material to fill my needs.
It really doesn't leave me with greater impressions and I find myself
in a kind of inactive state when I try to imbibe what is delivered.
The riffs have heavy and vicious moments, but at the same
time, they aren't particularly prominent to be able to add something
awesome to this music. Apart from a female speaking on a pair of songs,
the main vocal effort is a stretch of hissing parts, performed with
some rage and anger, and this isn't something that I feel connected
to.
I sense no actual forceful energy and the overall weak
production is unable to take this effort to higher grounds. The band
lets go of the barriers occasionally, but also repeatedly finds its
way back to a somewhat sedative appearance. I have listened to this
EP for over 20 times and although its playing time is merely 23 minutes,
it doesn't rush rapidly from front to back. I'm well aware of that this
type of music isn't inside of my natural and main area, because I decidedly
can't see what would motivate me to listen to this record again.
