Extreme Death/Grind are the main themes when it comes to Spanish Imbrue. Cado Datur Verbs is the first full-length from this fresh band who started up in 2000. Cado Datur Verbs is filled with nine tracks of extreme death metal with loads of heavy grind assaults. No easy listening in other words. For myself I enjoy extreme metal, that has to be said, but I feel that the music must have some kind of finesse and melodies in order to be convincing. After some listening, and it really takes its time to sit down and listen, I realise that Imbrues do have an aim with their music. I can say directly that there are loads of bands that make this music without being even near the result that Imbrue presents.

Hysterical grind and blasting sessions with really weird but quite ok melodies that make this album feel very diverse and unpredictable. But there is one cold hard fact left to consider, and I guess that I'm not alone to be asking the question if it is possible to keep up the quality of speed, intensity and at the same time make the listener curious through out a whole album with this type of music. I guess that I´m one of those that appreciates this kind of furious mangled and shredded blasterpiece in smaller doses.

I must also say that the production leaves a lot to wish for. Very noisy and sometimes overdistortioned. Otherwise the vocals are of the growling kind that don't help the listener with the lyrical aspects. The winning cards that Imbrue sits on must be the vital knowledge in good riffs. There are some quite extreme and daring guitar sections on this recording. Shape shifting grind with sometimes almost jazzy parts that also can be heard from bands like Cephalic Carnage and Macabre. Its ok and I enjoy it for a few songs, but not a whole album.
