Swedish Doom Metal band It Will Come have sent us their debut promo tape, simply called Bound. It Will Come hails from Gothenburg and have only been active for a year. Bound was recorded some days in August 2004, and a statement from the band declare that the purpose of starting the band was to play doom in the vein of bands such as Candlemass and My Dying Bride.

Well, time to listen. One thing strikes me immediately - what a voice. Perhaps I didn't mention, It Will Come´s singer and bass player goes by the name Louise Halldin. I must say that this woman has got a great voice and quite some singing skills. Very good and clean female vocals. Regarding the music: It's slow. Very slow. But in a good way, since when I listen to this kind of music I appreciate when it has a medium flow all over the songs. This demo starts very slow and it remains slow with many melancholy elements. A kind of depression strikes me! But as I said, in a positive way. The best performance on this recording is without any doubts the heavy and powerful Storm Of Sin, with a great chorus line and cool guitar works.

Perhaps the songwriting is a bit monotone here and there, and some things could have been better and would have made these songs even stronger and more powerful. But hey, we are talking about a debut here. A promising debut from a band worth to check out.
