With God's speed, enforcing freedom's call; the sons of sanctuary become mega death like saviours, in the hope of having nice dreams. These opti-mystics of acient prophesies are mindful and ahead of the game; wise, succumbing to no trends, eager and ready to reveal the secrets of sympathy, as darkness fills the disguise.

Sometimes I feel just like Andy B. Franck, and I'll be frank, this unknown feeling is surrounding me - haunting my soul - while I am facing my darkest fears. Inside the castigation, I become caught up in my own storm of the brain. Piercing with an invisible touch, in the presence of my own mettlephysical awareness, I'm affected, moving in circles; gleaming with laughter and tears, that always keep me searching towards the light. I agree with Andy when he writes, "I'm trapped inside my own philosophy, and try to become a man of dignity...", for the song entitled Towards The Light. Sometimes I just feel emotionally lost, but foundationally secure.

I'm relatively new to the sounds of Symphorce; so how do I guage to become death? How might I adequatelly assess this mettle symposium of force, foolheartedly? I always viewed Symphorce as being the bastard son of Brainstorm. Now that I've played this CD dozens of times, I contend that they are anything but that. The band is a quintet of teutonic talent, with each member also involved and ensconced in another popular power metal milieu. This blend of artistry creates a diverse tapestry of shadows and light, both gothic and melodic, passionately played out by the sequential exposition of Cedric, Andy, and Markus.

Two bands that come to mind are Megadeth and Type O Negative - what a contrast! Andy sings with a registered delivery like Dave Mustaine evoking Pete Steele, incorporating and encompassing his own unique range. The music is metal, although each song possesses its own caricature of creative authenticity.

Pounding aggression and sonic intensity are the monumental characteristics which commence with Darkness Fills The Sky. This cry of the condemned embraces the Mystic Prophecy paradigm, meets Brainstorm with menace. The lofty liberations which ensue inscribe that 90's era Megadeth culture; especially the penultimate Lost But Found intern of youth. In Fact, No Final Words To Say suggests that when Symphorce toured the world, they paid careful attention to the youth in Asia. This diatribe is a symphorce of destruction, sweating bullets, grinding the gears of war, a swan song in the field of Nephilim.

Many quality acts have emulated the musing of Mr. Mustaine. Consider Memorain from Greece who employed Nick Menza to play drums; there's also Norway's power gods Gaia Epicus. Symphorce manage to maintain their own formula with their modest homage paid to the rattleheads of state. Andy's also entwined in the Ziggy Stardust memories of his idol - David Bowie. This is apparent when the songs structure diverts from its standard expectations. This evidently occurs with the song Inside The Cast. This grave worn trail of tears elicits empathy in the face of pain. Like Moonspell, Symphorce refused to be categorized, or limit their potential.

Other standout tracks include Towards The Light and the sentient Ancient Prophecies; both are well written poetic and charismatic reflections on the journey known as life; intuiting the ideal that we are pre-sent; but now-here. I may just be rediscovering their often overlooked diligence and unassuming wisdom; so I freely speak my mind and declare Become Death a magnificent array of foresight and spellbinding consciencesness, in the open dream. In two words: light and truth. My promise, and there are no finer words to say!
