Zyklon´s brand new "Aeons" are the record that is meant to take up the hunt for the "big war elephants" in the genre, as Vader, Morbid Angel, Nile to name a few. Well, its no easy task that waits for the Norwegian squadrone. But who knows? "Aeon" was recorded in Akkerhaugen lydstudio (Nor) and mixed in Fredman Studios (Swe). So there is a great chans that they will succed...

On their debut "World Ov Worms" they introduced there music as a blasting tecnotronic tromb with lyrics that would made at least half this genres textwriters green of anvy. And of course also this time the lyrics are made of "Doctor Faust" also known as the former drummer of Emperor, Bård Eithun. I must say that it's a real pleasure to read and analyze Zyklons lyrics, this is deep and interesting subjects for all of us so called human beings....but enough about this. Zyklon means also music....aggressive, cold, industrial and mean death metal.

I really liked their debut, but at the same time it felt like it was possible to hear this band even better, with more variety. The "Aeon" album are much more of everything comparing to "W.o.w". A little less speed overall but instead more variety. Better composing, better sound/production and better vocals from the new Secthdamon (voc/bass). The later mentioned gives the hole band a new dimension with a mix of traditional dark vocals but also a much higher and brighter touch with a bit more "cleaner" vocals. Well as I said, better riffings, arrangements and some great samplings makes this album better than the debut. But all in all, this album feels like a natural step forwards in the bands career.

What about the tracks then? The heavy riffing in "Core solution", the F1 race "Subtle Manipulation"Together With The Mighty "No Name Above Names", the thrashier "Prophetic Method" and the melancholy "An Eclectic Manner" are the ones that leaves the deepest scars. But once again, I don't think that I have ever been so keen on checking the lyrics as when it comes to a band as Zyklon. Its about our world, history&future.
An album that makes sense booth in music and message, without being a society lession.
